Penja pepper is named after the town where it originated, Penja, a volcanic area 70 km from Douala, in Cameroon’s Littoral province. Penja pepper is considered the world’s most excellent pepper in the world. It belongs to the the piper nigrum family, which includes authentic peppers such as Belém pepper. Penja white pepper requires a solid combination. It works well with strong meats, both red and white, especially pork and beef. It can also be used on grilled vegetables such as asparagus, mushrooms and cabbage. It combines well with fish such as sole, turbot and monkfish. However, you be surprised by the taste of Penja white pepper married to cheese.
